The core loop involves collecting gold coins, avoiding obstacles, and traveling as far as possible to set high scores. Coins are used in an in-game shop to purchase items. The official version monetizes through ads and in-app purchases for currency.
What This Mod Unlocks
Modified Game Resources
- Unlimited Coins: The coin counter increases upon collection instead of decreasing for purchases.
- All Ads Removed: Interstitial and banner ad triggers are disabled, providing uninterrupted runs.
- Shop Items Unlocked: All cosmetic and utility items in the store are available for purchase with the modded currency.
This mod alters the local client-side values for virtual currency. It does not modify online leaderboards or the core game physics. The primary alteration is to the function that deducts coins when a shop transaction is attempted.
Activation Note
The mod features are active immediately upon launching Smile & Spikes Mod. No mod menu or toggle is required. Coins will appear to increase when collected. Attempting to buy any item in the shop will succeed regardless of the displayed cost.
Requirements
Requires Android 4.4 or higher. The APK file is approximately 19 MB. Installation requires enabling installation from unknown sources. Root access is not required.
Install Steps
- Download the Smile & Spikes Mod mod APK file.
- On your Android device, open Settings > Security.
- Enable "Unknown Sources" for your file manager or browser.
- Navigate to the downloaded file and tap to install.
- Launch Smile & Spikes Mod from your app drawer.
Known Edge Cases
If you clear the app data for Smile & Spikes Mod, your local progress and coin count will reset, though the mod will remain functional. The mod only affects offline gameplay. High scores submitted to online leaderboards function normally. On some devices with aggressive battery optimization, the game may need to be excluded to prevent background closure.
