Upon launching 8Bit Photo Lab, the modded features are integrated directly into the interface. There is no separate activation menu or toggle. The PRO restrictions on palette selection, dithering options, and export settings are simply absent. The mod requires Android 5.0 or higher. It does not require root access. The installation file is approximately 30 MB, with additional storage needed for processed images. Network permissions are only for optional ad frameworks present in the base app, which are neutralized in this mod.

Installation follows the standard sideload process for modified APK files. First, enable installation from unknown sources in the device security settings. Second, download the provided APK file. Third, locate the downloaded file using a file manager and tap to initiate installation. Fourth, open the app after installation completes.

Several edge cases exist. The mod functions entirely offline. Clearing the app's data or cache does not revert the unlocked PRO status, as the modification is baked into the application package. On some devices with very low RAM, applying the maximum 4096x4096 resolution export may cause a temporary slowdown or the app to become unresponsive. This is a processing limitation, not a mod issue. The original app's social sharing features remain unchanged and functional.
